Blast occurs at gathering in Balochistan to celebrate birthday of prophet Muhammad
A suicide bomber has killed at least 54 people who were gathering for a parade near a mosque to mark the birthday of the prophet Muhammad in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province.
Local officials said hundreds of people had gathered at a mosque in Mastung for an Eid-e-Milad Un Nabiprocession and were leaving the building when the bomber struck. Muslims hold rallies and distribute free meals to people on the occasion, which is also a public holiday.
